Sandra Darlington
I've been having trouble with my old break slipping, even after replacing the velcro twice and tightening the set screw, so last Friday I ordered a new one. I heard from Heidi yesterday that my order was received and they will begin to process it. I guess I will have my new brake within a week or so. witha'K'quilting
What's inside the new brake that keeps then from slipping?
Sandra Darlington
Lynn - The brake for my Liberty is $49.95. Kristina - I think it also has velcro.
WestieMom
My Lenni came with the blue brakes...love them. Kristina, when you push down the blue handle it spreads the end caps (for lack of a better term) against the rollers. It holds the rollers well but you can still turn a roller if you want to put some slack on the quilt, or tighten it.

Matt Sparrow
I love the new brake too. My old one was a p.o.s. from day one. The glue from the thin padding gooped up my rollers.
JustSewSimple
It would be so easy to make your own brake from wood. My break is great but once it gets over-the-hill, I might try to carve one out myself. Rubber shelf liner would stop the slipping, don't you think? Sheri Butler
Shannon. 2 weeks ago when I went to try out the Bliss when they were in Lincoln, I saw that new brake too! Jim was wonderful in explaining that bliss system to my husband and I.
RitaR
Himself made my metal brakes... really works quite well. I love them. He used the angle aluminum from Lowe's, a long bolt of some kind, a butterfly nut and you just move the handles forward or back for opening and tightening. dlnewell
Sylvia, using rubber shelf liner is great idea. I have some of that rubber rug antislip mesh or whatever you call it that I'm going to try. Thanks for the idea.
JustSewSimple
Rita, post a picture of you home-made brake so we can see. Debbie, I keep that rubber shelf liner in the quilting room all the time. I use it until it falls appart. I even use it in my dining room to keep the plates from slipping in the china cabinet. I use about 1"X1/2" just under the lip of the plate. Works wonders!
