Kay Anderson
Here is my latest project. It's a wall hanging, or I may use it for a shop sample. What do you think?

Kay Anderson
This is a whole cloth project. Then entire design is hand painted. I used Shiva Oil Sticks for the bright sun, and Walnut Farms oil pencils for the more detailed areas. The background depicts a planet eclipse of the sun. Sorta a Si-Fy vision. I love to paint and draw and started working on this peice over a year ago.
Quilting Heidi
Kay you did a great job on this. I love the coloring that you and wow you really added a lot of detail.
Kay Anderson
I named this one "Guardian". It was cloudy here today and my photos didn't come out very well. I'll try to get some closeups tomorrow. Thanks Heidi, I like to do detail. I even added black ink in the background of the peppled areas. I wanted it to look lively. I like the depth it gave to the peppled areas.

LadyLake
Awesome, Kay! I love the thoughts you put into the piece. There is lots in it to enjoy, but I am blown away by how real the brown pebbles look! Does your shop specialize in painting quilts?
Kay Anderson
No Joan. More like, have pencils will color! I haven't had any new clients since I got to Texas. To darn hot to even think about quilts for most folks here. It is sorta tropical in the San Antonio area in the summer. (Here summer lasts around 9 months!) Right now I'm not sure my business is going to survive the move. There doen't seem to be anywhere near the amount of interest in quilting here as there was in Kansas...just a little down about it right now.
