ramona-quilter
So draw something for us, Doodle Bug. Yeah, come on, Shannon. I need a simple "man design" for a (OMG) denim quilt. I think simple is a must and stay away from those seams. So, Shannon, do you have any ideas for this rancher (40-ish) whose wife made the denim quilt and his daughter is my student. I am drawing a complete blank.
Sheri Butler
ROFLMAO Linda re: (OMG denim quilt)!!!!!! Yes, you are going to have to do a separate design in each block. YUCKIE PHOOEY!
doodlebug
i did a blue jean quilt (ala gee's bend) for a customer years ago and i still remember the design i did. it was for her son to go to college with. it was made from his jeans and khakis. and it's an easy freemotion E2E. just aviod the seams...think of it as a squared loppy meander... (oh, when it comes to quilting motifs, men are not picky. "nothing girly" is what i hear alot. so i always go for a straight line something. makes the piecer and the receiver happy)
doodlebug
i call this one maze. if you take your time you should be okay with the seam's thickness. i would use the straight lines in this one as a faux SID....nail everything down.
