I bought some fabric to make this, but I don't have the pattern,yet, and it looks like it will take a whole lot of time. Love how you did it. Great job!! quiltlover03 Posted July 24, 2012 Author Report Share Posted July 24, 2012 I find it really hard to take a close up of the quilting details. I kept it fairly simple, black thread to outline the spikes, stipple in the little black squares and all the black pie shapes, teardrops in the border. I found that by doing that, it raised the circles and the centre and gave the piece lots of depth. The quilting in the black area was done free hand, no stencil or pattern, i just went with it. the threads used are a melon coloured aurifil and a lime green aurifil. Orange marble for the backing and the binding was made from the same yellow as is in the quilt. Thank you all for your nice comments and for looking.
