Show Update Picture Added!!!130 X 130 Flowers in the Cabin~Customer Quilt

Recommended Posts

As I told you earlier, the customer entered this in a show local to where she lives. I was so excited to be able to go and see it. My DH drve me over there this morning, it was in a different time zone so we had to get an early start. We walked in and there were THREE ribbons on it! The Mayor's Choice, The Judge's Choice, and First Place for the category it was entered in!! I've never seen a quilt I did hanging in a show and this is the first time I know of that one got ribbons. Another quilt I did for this customer two years ago was entered as well and it got a second place, dummy me, I was so enthralled with the large one I totally forgot to go back and take pictures picture of the second one! Now, granted it was a very small show, but all the same gratifying to see the work appreciated.

This is me grinning like the Cheshire Cat!

Libby: "Did you use any invisible thread on the applique?"

I didn't not use any invisable thread, I used bottom line cream/off white to match the linen of the background to outline the applique, adn I used light gray for SID on the inner gray borders. I used bottom line thread for all the background filler, and used SoFine for all the quilting in the applique and colored log parts of the blocks.

I used both 3.0 size needle for all the outlining and background filler, I went through three of these as they dulled as I worked, I used 3.5 for everything else. I felt like I spent as much time changing thread and needles as I did quilting. I used 30 Cream Magna-Glide bobbins to complete this quilt.

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone!
