Quilting Heidi
OK you guys have all heard me whine about how long this quilt has taken and I can finally say it is done...well ok the binding isn't on it yet! As you all know it is for my daughter but I've already told her I'm putting it in a few shows. It has probably more than 60 hours of quilting time in it. I used a new template for my quiltazoid on it. Adam was a dear and made one for my special request. I wanted something that would do 1/4" cross-hatching and by George it does!!!!! It made it so much easier than using a ruler and the nice part is that it doesn't require any marking!!!!:P:P:P This template alone will be used over and over. I can skip every other line and do 1/2" pretty easily to so it will definitely be well used. OK quilt details (sorry these always get so long) I put 1/4" cross hatching in all the darker blue, cc'd the stars and SID everything. I lost track of how much thread I used but I went through more than a cone of SoFine on top and used bottomLine in the bobbin. My daughter loves the quilt. She took the pictures. We spent 2 hours blocking it...hate that job :( It will be worth it though since it is square! I'm glad it is done. More pictures in my webshots. I'll try to get a few better pictures once it is unpinned from the floor. The back is beautiful too and my daughter says it reminds her of snow flakes so she can flip it upside down in the winter or for Christmas. rcck00
Beautiful!! I wish I had a better word! Question: On the border (which is *gorgeous*) did you tie and bury the threads on the bead board stitching, or did you backstitch?
